Care instructions for inline skate brakes

Care Tip: Maintaining Your Brakes Properly
To ensure your inline skate brakes work reliably, you should maintain and check them regularly. Here's how to do it:

After every skate session:
Clean the brake with water – never use harsh cleaning agents, as they can damage the material.

Check for wear and tear:
Is the brake pad significantly worn down or unevenly used?

Inspect the screws:
Are they tight or have they loosened due to vibrations?

Adjustment & Replacement:
Some brakes can be adjusted in height – ideal for restoring ground contact when wear begins.

Replace in time:
Replace the brake at the latest before the rubber is worn down to the point that the screw or bracket touches the ground.

Keep your foot as straight as possible while braking to avoid uneven wear.

Storage:
Store your skates clean, dry, and protected from light to prevent material aging and rubber hardening.

Especially for metal brake systems:
Ensure the paint layer is intact – otherwise, rust may form.

Riding technique:
Skate with foresight to avoid hard braking.

Also use alternative braking techniques (e.g., T-stop, plow stop, and others) to protect the brake rubber and distribute wear more evenly.
